Tartuff opens its big tent

Why do we sabotage love? Does love have a formula? What do Ukrainian love songs sound like?

You will find out about this and much more at the PÖFF love film festival Tartuff, which starts on August 1st in Tartu, and will bring viewers a wealth of special events in addition to inspiring films.

Most screenings will take place in the large event tent on the Town Hall Square, which which will be erected in cooperation with Postimees and will bear the name of Postimees.

"Postimees really likes Estonian culture and, of course, film. We have been happy to develop a special program together with Tartuff to talk about love and its various facets before the film screenings. We believe that the diverse program of Postimees complements the PÖFF love film festival well, and we hope that everyone will have a good time at Tartuff," Anne Muldme, marketing director of the Postimees Group, said of the cooperation with Tartuff.

According to Tartuff manager Mirjam Võsaste, the festival has not had such a comfortable and spacious tent for a long time.

The club of the festival this year is the bar Naiiv located on Emajõe.

This year, the PÖFF Love Film Festival will take place from 1 to 6 until August and its sub-theme is dance. Sander Joone's animated film "Sierra" opens the festival and Gaspar Noé's provocative drama "Ecstasy" closes.

Tartuff is organized by the Black Nights Film Festival and presented by Elisa, European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 and Postimees.
