Juliette Binoche has spent nearly a year touring the world with a project that reveals a new side of her – as a director and creative force. In July, the film screened at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where she received the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema.

Known for her work in film, theatre, dance, music, poetry, and painting, Binoche makes her directorial debut with this deeply personal project.

Nearly 20 years ago, her passion for dance led her to step away from acting and join British choreographer and dancer Akram Khan to create “In-I”, which premiered at London’s National Theatre in 2008.

Mostly filmed by Binoche’s sister, Marion Stalens, this never-before-seen footage captures the raw creative process, bold decisions, gruelling rehearsals, live performances, and standing ovations.
